Last night my mom had her annual feast/pumpkin carving for the
fam. She is Blackfoot's own version of Martha Stewart ~ if Martha were a Mormon mom:)! Anyway, I forgot my camera in my rush out the door. Luckily I have a sister who is just as blog-happy as the rest of us, and she has all of the little details on her blog:
http://web.me.com/sarahthompson5/ so check it out. However, I do have to display my girl's pumpkins. They went for original designs this time. Abby wanted Minnie

Mouse, which I got to try to carve. Can you even tell? I guess it's sort of a Minnie. We wanted to put two little mini pumpkins on for ears ("like at Disneyland" as I heard 223 times!), but all stores were OUT! So, I carved ears, to Abby's utter disappointment. I drew a few Minnie faces on paper before carving and I'd ask, "Abby, does this look like Minnie?" She'd examine it and say, "
UGH! NO MOM!!" It was a
FUN project for me. Olivia roped my grandma into helping her with a design she drew. I think it turned out pretty well...

it is Jack
Skelington from
The Nightmare Before Christmas. She loves that weird show. She's a pretty good little artist! I, for one, am
soooooooo relieved that all of the carving is D-O-N-E!

I personally preferred these little Mr. Pumpkin Head type things featured on the left. The kids did them all by themselves in like 6 minutes! That is some sweet Halloween cheer! My mom found these, and I was impressed! I just used three
exclamation points in a row, which must mean that I'm WAY excited about the ease of the Mr. Pumpkin Head parts.
